Staples Foundation + Ashoka + TedTalk
Brief: Since 2007, Staples Foundation for Learning has invested in Ashoka’s Youth Venture to launch more than 1,000 youth-led social ventures internationally as well as recognize the best young changemakers who provide inspiration to others. In 2010, they came to us to design a mini-site for international voting on the 2010 Staples/Ashoka Youth Social Entrepreneur Excellence Award for the TedX Talks in DC.
Work: We did the UX and design for this 5 language site. Treetop Software did the backend. And Sparked did the translations.

Washington Office of Latin America
Brief: WOLA is a bilingual organization working to shape policies in the US and abroad since 1974. In addition to reorganizing their rich library of legacy documents, we found ways to highlight and disseminate the many forms of content WOLA produces every day: Publications, Research and Analysis, Videos, Podcasts, Tweets, Events, Newsletters and Fundraising Campaigns. After launch, we continued with donation and google grant support.
Work: We were tasked with strategic thinking + design, fundraising and seo strategy. Grandjuction was the backend multi-language Drupal partner.

Noble Hour : Inspiring and Managing Volunteerism
Brief: NobleHour is the rebranded and all grown-up version of the webapp SweatMonkey. With a budget nearing $9M, the NobleHour project redeveloped from the ground up and spanned brand discovery to a complete new architecture and code base.
Work: We were part of the rebrand team and UX team. We developed the designs for the marketing site, logged in sites, and skins for the customer branded sites. We also developed newsletter, social media and campaign assets.

La Salle International Foundation
Brief: For over 330 years, the La Salle Foundation has focued on education and health for the poorest worldwide. Headquartered in Rome (yes, we did a site visit!), they came to us requesting an online strategy and presence for their new U.S. Foundation.
Work: We did strategy, UI, design, communication plan, online fundraising, and content editing. We built their code and a custom CMS with feeds for news and online donation.

Stony Brook Univeristy : Biomedical Engineering Department
Brief: The BME department originally came to us with a netscape 1.0 site with neon dancing skeletons. Currently we are up to 3 new versions of their site and most recently a homepage redesign that needed to go bigger and include strategic content including social media.
Work: Spanning all 3 sites now, includes all design work, coding, custom built CMS, slideshows, faculty/staff databases, events calendar, and strategic recruiting content.

George Mason University : College of Science
Brief: As part of a strategic plan initiative, George Mason’s College of Science came to us needing an online strategy and design overhaul.
Work: We worked with their team to create an online plan including outreach and social media. From that strategy we reorganized their content and designed a youth-targeted new site to meet their needs including calendars, faculty databases, slideshows, faculty templates, department templates, mini-site templates.

University of Maryland : Department of Psychology
Brief: Our 10th UMD client, the Psychology Department came to us needing a new site that would highlight their broad range of research and activities.
Work: We did all strategy, UX, design, custom CMS and coding. Features include events calendar, news, people databases, recent findings database and rotating features.

Annie E. Casey Foundation : Child Welfare Database
Brief: The Annie E. Casey Family Program Foundation in partnership with Child Trends Research came to us to create a site and mobile interface that makes the Child Trends national child welfare policy database available to support legislators on the floor.
Work: We collaborated with a team to wrangle a lot of data into a friendly compact interface. We did the design and CitiDC was the project management and back-end partner.

NRDC: Natural Resource Defense Council
Brief: The NRDC is an ongoing client since 2006. The Natural Resources Defense Council works to protect wildlife and wild places and to ensure a healthy environment for all life on earth. We have designed 4 of their newsletters and several small mini-sites. We do ongoing back-end content production and newsletter production.
Work: We designed + did content production for newsletters and online web pages.

UMD Center for Comparative and Evolutionary Biology of Hearing
Brief: C-CEBH is a multi-department and multi-college program that spans Universities and partners with NIH. Their site, originally launched in 2008, has had several upgrades including a new slideshow, people, news and events databases.
Work: Skills: UX, Design, Coldfusion back-end with custom CMS.
